Sean Sullivan is a dental industry veteran with more than 29 years of leadership experience. As a DDSmatch professional, Sean represents doctors in Southern California from Mammoth Lakes to the border. He prides himself on his long history of collaboration and partnerships within the Southern California dental community. Sean is on the Advisory Board at Palomar College RDA program, is a volunteer for the California Care Force, and has served as host for the San Diego County Dental Society New Dentist Networking events for the past several years. He lives in Carlsbad, CA, with his wife, nephew and two border collies. He enjoys ocean and mountain adventures including surfing, paddleboard racing and snowboarding.

I have known Jason for over 15 years. We met when he was the general manager at the El Segundo branch of Patterson Dental Supply, Inc. I have always known him to be an honest, trustworthy, hardworking man of the highest integrity. Through his many years in the Dental industry, he has gained extensive knowledge of Dental practices, not only from an equipment standpoint but also from a business standpoint as well. He was able to use his wealth of knowledge to help navigate (he’s a sailor) me through the most important decision of me 38-year professional career.
I made the decision to sell my practice during an unprecedented time in our lives, the Coronavirus Pandemic, and ensuing practice shut down. This was probably the most stressful and difficult time to make this decision, as I was unsure if I would be able to obtain a fair compensation for my legacy, all of the years of hard work in building a successful practice. Jason far exceeded my expectations. He was instrumental in creating a transition that was beneficial to my patients, my employees, the buyer of my practice and to my family and myself. He was very nimble, flexible, and innovative in his approach. The buyer and his advisors understandably were resistant to giving me the full appraised value for my practice due to the tremendous uncertainty of the impact that the pandemic would have on the productivity of the practice going forward.
Jason was able to negotiate a mutually agreeable financial structure whereby the buyer gave me a significant portion of the appraised value for my practice at closing and then a holdback and a bonus that would be payable over the next three years dependent on the performance of the practice. He created a sliding scale based on practice performance that was fair to all parties involved. He was
also able to construct an agreement that would allow my wife and myself to continue to work in the practice at a very fair rate of compensation in order to help transition the patients over to the new Doctor and his team.
Jason went above and beyond the call of duty in the transition. He was constantly educating himself through webinars on all of the new rules and regulations being introduced by the ADA, CDA, CDPH, and CDC. He actually educated himself on how to apply for the PPP loan and was instrumental in helping me obtain the loan. During times of stress he was always very calming and reassuring. I not only feel that Jason was the best choice I could have made to help me in the transition of my practice, I feel like I have made a new friend for life.
